This is Not just Like any other Christmas but hope it’s the key

This year Christmas is going to be different. I know, we say that every single year. But like never before, we have to confront ourselves with a new truth.

We’ve got to appreciate the little things, and not just on the 24th of December. All year long.

If I think of all time I’ve spent stressing out about what the others think of me, I can’t forgive myself.

I’ve always been that person who always put the loved ones first but also that girl that can’t never forgive herself for silly things.

So, this year I promise I won’t do that again to myself. It’s not worth my time and energy.

Out there, not only a virus came to change all our little, precious lives. But the virus made broad again the smallest pleasures: a chat with a friend who lives away, a hug we can’t crave enough, a movie with your family.

A walkout of 5 kilometers of your home. All these things exist now because we can’t have it.

What about instead of all the Christmas we had these things for granted and never thanked enough for having them?

Humanity always desires what’s out of reach.

So I’m trying to challenge myself this time, by thanking for being healthy, and the unique opportunity to remind myself what really matters.

Beyond the restrictions, and the homesickness. This will be a profound little Christmas.
